The Bell Museum

Deep in the Vicenza countryside, tucked in between the Berici and Euganei hills, Montegalda accommodates the wonderful Villa Fogazzaro-Colbacchini, home to the original Veneto Region Bell Museum.

The magnificent garden in front of the villa houses the largest bells, while a route packed with exhibits unravels inside the building.
From Chinese gongs and Indian, Burmese and Thai products to precious and rare 11th century Italian Gothic bells and modern age products.

There is a whole room dedicated to the history of foundrymen in Veneto, with some of their products on display: bells and small bells made by the foundries De Maria in Vicenza, De Poli in Ceneda, Vittorio Veneto, Cavadini in Verona and especially Colbachini, which initially operated in Bassano del Grappa, before moving to Padua.

Thanks to its excellent acoustics, the Foundry Room, where you can find out about the bell and small bell creation process, is also used for regular concerts and musical events.
